WINEMAKING:

The vineyards of "El Masdeu" are located at 800 m. above sea level, one of the highest vineyards in Priorat. The soils are red clay with a concentration of gravel. The approach to viticulture and oenology is based on organic and biodynamic agriculture.

The grapes are harvested in 2 stages, one part a little greener in order to have a natural acidity. Fermented in stainless steel tank, followed by a long cold maceration at low temperature (6ºC) for 48 hours, to extract the primary aromas, and pressed in the old basket press. Low intervention, vinification carried out with indigenous yeasts. No enzymes, acidification or other adjustments.

Production of 1,219 bottles.

TASTING NOTES:

MASDEU" is a 100% Garnatxa wine, with a brilliant aromatic finesse. Really fresh and elegant classic Priorat red style. Deep ruby colour with a youthful purple hue. On the nose it has intense floral aromas of black cherries, blueberries and a touch of spicy oak notes. This Priorat is round, with soft tannins and delicious acidity and a long finish with fruity notes.

PAIRING:

Ideal with all kinds of meats, cured cheeses and pasta with elaborate sauces.

Serve between 14º and 16º C.
